2-Subject-Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Politikwissenschaft Bachelor, 2-Fach, Profil Fachergänzung)

The 2-Subject-Bachelor of Arts comprises two study courses of which
each corresponds to a total of 70 credits (ECTS), a Bachelor´s Thesis in
one of the two subjects (10 ECTS) and the studies of amendatory
subjects (Profil Fachergänzung) (30 ECTS).
The Bachelor program in Political Science provides students with a
foundation in the main areas of Political Science, its problems,
theoretical approaches and methods. Students will follow lectures and
choose from a wide range of seminars focusing on specific issues beyond
the scope of the lectures. As an added value to the academic program the
“Profil Fachergänzung” offers students the opportunity to follow
courses in other fields of study and to gain personal skills and
professional orientation by completing an internship lasting at least 6
weeks.
Two-Subject-Master of Arts in Modern Governance (Politikwissenschaft (Modernes Regieren) Master, 2 Fach)

The 2-Subject-Master of Arts comprises two study courses of which
each corresponds to a total of 45 credits and a Master´s Thesis in one
of the two subjects (30 ECTS).
The Master program in Political Science focuses on aspects of
governance from an international and comparative perspective. Lectures
and seminars elaborate on actors, structures, contents, and processes
of governance and intend to deepen students' basic knowledge of
Political Science in a research-oriented manner. In the Advanced Module,
students are given the opportunity to set their own area of
specialization by choosing their seminars depending on academic
background and interest. Master Theses submitted in the subject of
Political Science are presented in the Master's Forum.
Master of Arts in International Politics and International Law (Internationale Politik und Internationales Recht Master, 1 Fach)

This
Master program provides students with the competence to analyze
problems of Europeanization, Internationalization and Globalization of
Politics and law from an interdisciplinary perspective. It combines
courses of the Department of Political Science and the renowned
Walther-Schücking-Institute of International Law at the Faculty of Law,
focusing on actors, structures, contents, and processes of governance on
the national and international level, as weIl as on questions of
European and international law. Students are encouraged to set their own
area of specialization by choosing seminars depending on academic
background and interest. Moreover, the program is enhanced by the
opportunity for students to replace several seminar modules by
completing an internship of at least 6 weeks in a relevant institution.

2-Subject-Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Politics, Profil Lehramt an Gymnasien (Wirtschaft/Politik Bachelor, 2-Fach, Profil Lehramt an Gymnasien)

This
Bachelor program is aimed at students who, after completing the Master
of Education, seek an occupation as a secondary school teacher
(Gymnasium). The 2-Subject-Bachelor of Arts comprises two study courses
of which each corresponds to a total of 70 credits (ECTS), a Bachelor's
Thesis in one of the two subjects (10 ECTS) and the studies of the
“Profil Lehramt an Gymnasien” (30 ECTS). Exploring the subjects of
Political Science, Economics and the basics of Sociology, the program
qualifies students to deal with political as well as economic questions
at the national, European and international level. The „Profil Lehramt
an Gymnasien“ serves as a basis for the teaching profession end provides
for an introduction into the didactics of Economics and Politics.
2-Subject-Master of Education in Economics/Politics (Wirtschaft/Politik Master of Education, 2 Fach)

This
Master program is aimed at future secondary school teachers who have
completed the Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Politics “Profil Lehramt an
Gymnasien”. The 2-Subject-Master of Arts comprises two study courses of
which each corresponds to a total of 35 credits (including at least 10
ECTS for subject didactics), the studies of the “Profil Lehramt an
Gymnasien” (30 ECTS) and a Master's Thesis in one of the two subjects or
within the Profile's topics (20 ECTS). Characterized by a close
interlinking of political and economic questions, the program provides
for in-depth courses in the didactics of Politics and Economics
(economic and political education).
